On September 29, 2008 Selman Lewis, CEO of Miami Carnival Inc., passed away. Miami Carnival Inc. deeply regrets the death of our beloved leader - our mentor and our friend.

We are attaching the Joint Statement from Selman's family and from Miami Carnival Inc., which gives full information on the arrangements which have been made.

Selman's wife, sons and family have asked us to relay their deepest appreciation for the many many phone calls, emails and messages which continue to be received from around the world.

In a final tribute to this brilliant and accomplished man, and in recognition of his dedication to and passion for Carnival, the 2008 Miami Carnival will be the ultimate celebration of Selman's life and accomplishments.

Eternal rest grant unto him. Let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
